Jenne Glover: Discovering the Journey

Washington, D.C. artist Jenne Glover will exhibit at Baltimore’s Station North Arts and Entertainment District gallery, New Door Creative, June 3rd through June 29th, 2018. The exhibition is entitled “Discovering the Journey”, a collection of mixed- media collaged works. An opening reception will be hosted on Sunday, June 3rd at 2-5 P.M.
“Discovering the Journey” presents 25 mixed-media collages that are colorfully spontaneous narratives. Varied in scale, the collection is skillfully composed, and layered with a range of paint media, photographic imagery, fabric, and re-purposed materials.
In her practice, Glover is challenged by ‘finding the pulse, the beat of unfolding concept, and going with the flow’. Drawing from an Afrocentric aesthetic, the artist engages viewers with consistently free-spirited rhythm that is visually melodic and inventive.
A native of Washington, D.C., Glover has exhibited internationally. Recent exhibitions include “60 Americans”, Elga Swimmer PCC, New York (2015), “Cornucopia”, Wolfarth Gallery, Washington, D.C (2016), “Alchemical Vessels 2016”, Smith Center for Healing and the Arts, Washington, D.C., “New Power Generation 2016 National Juried Exhibition”, Hampton University Museum, Hampton, VA, (2016). In 2017, she was honored as “Mixed Media Finalist” Global Art Awards, Dubai (2017).
